The big ol' elephant in the room. That hairstyle, that headgear, that way of speaking, do you know where it CAME from? Where its origins lie? Whose ancestors it's honoring or dishonoring? Ignorance is bliss, but it really isn't. Cultural appropriation operating in the backdrops of a system of racism and supremacy is problematic at best, and erasure of minority groups at worst. It must be spoken about, it is not innocent, in fact it's malicious and needs to be called out. Appreciation and appropriation are not the same, knowing the difference is understanding the concepts of empathy vs narcissism.
