Dwayne Taylor was born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey. Attended St. Patrick's Grammar school and then Marist H.S in Bayonne NJ. In 2003 He became a Jersey City Firefighter, where he is currently a battalion chief. In a full-circle moment in 1950, Thomas Gerald Taylor, Dwayne's Grandfather, became the JCFD’s first African American firefighter.
