In today's episode, we are going to look at two different dialogues in English, where one person is breaking the news to another person.
Good news
Person A: Hey, I have some exciting news to share with you!
Person B: Really? What is it?
Person A: I got the job that I applied for!
Person B: Oh wow, that's amazing! Congratulations! I'm so happy for you!
Person A: Thank you so much! I'm really thrilled about it. It's the perfect opportunity for me and it's going to be a huge step forward in my career.
Person B: I can tell how excited you are, and you should be! This is a huge accomplishment.
Person A: Yes, it definitely is. I can't wait to get started and see what this new job has in store for me.
Person B: You're going to do great. This is just the beginning of all the wonderful things that are going to come your way.
Person A: Thank you for being so supportive. I really appreciate it.
Person B: Of course! You deserve all the happiness and success that comes your way.
Bad/Sad News
Person A: Hey, can we talk?
Person B: Sure, what's up?
Person A: I don't really know how to say this, but I think we need to break up.
Person B: What? Why? Is it something I did?
Person A: No, it's not you. It's just that I don't feel like we're working out. We're just not compatiblein the way that we need to be.
Person B: I can't believe this is happening. I thought everything was going well.
Person A: I know, and it's not an easy decision for me to make. But I think it's for the best.
Person B: How am I supposed to move on from this?
Person A: I don't know. It's going to be hard for both of us, but we'll get through it. We can still be friends, if that's something you want.
Person B: I don't know if I can just be friends with you after this. I need time to process everything.
Person A: I understand. I'm here for you if you need anything. I just want you to know that this isn't about you. It's just about the relationship not working out the way it needs to.
Person B: I appreciate you telling me this, even though it hurts. I guess I'll need some time to think about everything.
Person A: That's understandable. Just know that I'll always care about you and want the best for you, even if we're not together anymore.
