In July 2020, The National Museum of African American History & Culture released an online report called Aspects and Assumptions of Whiteness & White Culture in the United States. The report was taken down the next day, with a note saying it did not contribute to the conversation.

Join Nick Carter and Liam E. as they discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly from the report. As well as the aspects of human nature that make these crucial conversations so difficult to get right. Why do humans sabotage these kinds of conversations? Why are they so terrifying? How can we make these conversations easier and more productive? The works of psychologist and Author Jonathan Haidt lay out the ground rules for meaningful conversations.

This podcast is a Dangerous Conversation. Two Irish Americans, sipping Irish Whiskey, and trying to find our place in the world. It's just one of a lifetime's worth of conversations worth having. And, as always, Liam steals the show by brilliantly summarizing in one paragraph, what Nick takes five minutes to dance around.

Liam's Wisdom For The Day:
It reminds me of perceiving the world as an adversary or as a family member. If we looked at the whole world as a family member, I think that we would treat it differently. You would want to educate that person. Helping them grow. Helping them understand something, as opposed to an adversary that I needed to prove wrong.
