Reece Jones is Professor and Chair of the Department of Geography and Environment at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa. He is the editor-in-chief of the journal Geopolitics and is a Guggenheim Fellow whose work has been featured in The New York Times, the Guardian, Time Magazine, and the Economist. Jones is also the author of three award-winning books: Border Walls; Violent Borders; and White Borders: Race and Immigration in America from Chinese Exclusion to the Border Wall.

Moderator Robert Perkinson is a professor of American Studies at UH Manoa and coordinator of the Better Tomorrow Speaker Series.
