I was out for a walk one day and tracking my exercise on a sports app - I like it because I can see how my heart rate is doing, what my average walking pace is etc. However, on one occasion, when I checked my app, the map was just a horrible mess: imagine a 3 year old with a crayon and lots of sugar, and you’d have what I had on the screen of my mobile phone.

For a really good fix on where you are at any point, you need more than one satellite to help locate you and your device. Three is a good starting point. And, not surprisingly, there is another ‘three’ that also helps us navigate through life, and that three is often referred to as the Trinity.

While it isn’t a biblical title, it does help understand the role that God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit have together.

Deny God and you’ll get confused.

Deny Jesus and you’ll end up in hell (literally and figuratively).

Deny the Holy Spirit and you’ll get lost.

The Trinity is made up of 3 distinct parts; 3 separate people and we need all 3 of those people for a balanced faith - as Christians.

If you revere God and trust His words in the Holy Bible; if you believe that Jesus died and rose again for your sins; if you allow the Holy Spirit to guide your steps, you won’t have a massive, messy squiggle of mess like the map on my sports app - just check out the Israelites and their decades in the desert!!

Global Positioning Satellites are really amazing technology.

But the Moon is much bigger, and way better…and I know the hands that put that in its place!

Just a thought…
