This week Kristen speaks with Rob Saxon, the Director of External Affairs at MANNA about this incredible organization currently in the middle of their biggest fundraiser of the year, Pie in the Sky. MANNA is selling six different delicious flavors of pie (Aberdeen Apple Pie, American Airlines Sky Pie, Berry Pie, Pumpkin Pie, Pecan Pie, and Sweet Potato Pie) just in time for Thanksgiving, with the proceeds helping to provide nourishment to people in the area battling life threatening illness. You’re more than likely going to be eating pie at Thanksgiving this year, so why not do some good while you’re at it? Purchase your MANNA pies before November 16th at https://mannapies.org/.

Then, Kristen meets Jamie Brunson, the Executive Director of First Person Arts and Dr. Neil Bardhan, the Manager oF Applied Storytelling at First Person Arts. First Person Arts is a not for profit organization that believes everyone has a story to tell, and allows folks in the area the opportunity to share those stories. They hold storytelling competitions called StorySlams throughout the year, culminating with a ‘GrandSlam’ StorySlam (coming up November 17th at the FringeArts building). The First Person Arts Festival is happening now (November 4-18th), with a number of performances and events scheduled throughout the area. Buy tickets at FestivalFirstPersonArts.com.
