Hakeem Ruiz is the Vice President of an organization called The Block Gives Back. The Block Gives back is a non profit organization that aims to promote community involvement and engagement by targeting issues within the community and devising a plan to recruit local volunteers, businesses, organizations and community leaders to help in working towards a solution.
Created by a group of friends from high school, this organization is showing up for communities all over the city of Philadelphia in a big way to give back and promote community involvement and support. Their mission has caught the attention of The Rachel Ray Show and other major media outlets, as well as a guest appearance and support from comedian Kevin Hart who came to town to collaborate with The Block Gives Back and support the block he grew up on here in Philly.
