Matthew Janzen of Ministers of the New Covenant

Part 1:

This lesson is the introductory to a series on the holiday known as Christmas. I discuss my beginnings with looking into the holiday, the birth narratives of Matthew and Luke, the Ante-Nicene Church Fathers, and the idea that Yeshua was born at Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles).

Part 2:

Before moving into the theories for the December 25 date the scene in first century Israel needs to be set. There were actually two winter feasts celebrated in and around Israel in the first century. What were they, and what was their significance?

Ministers of the New Covenant

WE BELIEVE IN Yahweh the Father, Almighty Maker of heaven and earth, and in Yeshua the Messiah His only begotten Son, our Master. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Miriam, lived a sinless life according to Torah, and preached the Good News of the Kingdom. He suffered and died as a substitute sacrifice for our sin, and was resurrected on the third day for our justification. Eternal life is this: knowing the Father and His Son, made possible by the gift of the Holy Spirit, a new heart and mind. After this gift, the believer is given the ability to follow Yahweh's holy law. Following this law is the inevitable fruit of regeneration and justification.
