Join the conversation as I talk with Susan Weinstein and I talk about dealing with depression, support others and learning to cope with mental illness.

Susan Weinstein is the Co-Executive Director of Families for Depression Awareness, a national nonprofit organization that helps families and friends recognize and cope with depression and bipolar disorder to get people well and prevent suicides. The organization provides education, outreach, and advocacy to support families. Families for Depression Awareness is made up of families affected by depression or bipolar disorder or who have lost a loved one to suicide.

Families for Depression Awareness offers education and resources on teen depression and adult depression and bipolar disorder. Their website is rich with information to help family caregivers and other caring adults provide the support that people with a mood disorder need to access treatment and get well. Their webinars provide guidance and actionable advice for caregivers so they can take care of others - and themselves.

Families for Depression Awareness also manages Care for Your Mind (http://www.careforyourmind.org), an advocacy blog that helps people become well-informed advocates for mental health.
