Like literally everything in the world related to food/diet/wellness, Intuitive Eating is currently having a moment, and we were curious about what it actually means, and if it's actually as delightful as it sounds.

To explain the whole philosophy behind intuitive eating, we sat down with Meredith Alvarez, mom of three, and Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor (CIEC) and a Certified LEAP Therapist (CLT) as well as a member of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals. Meredith explains why listening to your body can eventually lead you on a path of true nutrition, and why maybe Tracey should just eat the almond croissant. Like, all the time.

Sound to good to be true? We thought the same, but came out of this conversation with a really expanded understanding of our (women, moms) relationship to food and health and how maybe we're all just over-thinking it a little bit.

There is so much to digest (haha) here, that we decided to have Meredith on for two episodes so we can talk about intuitive eating from the adult perspective, and then discuss what that means for kiddos, picky eaters and family nutrition.

Unfortunately, we had some technical difficulties with this interview and the sound quality is not so great. We recommend listening to this with your headphones on so you don't miss anything, and apologies for the sound. We loved this talk so much we decided to put it out there despite it's challenges, and we hope you find it equally informative even if it's slightly irritating.

**************

Shayna and Tracey have been friends since the 8th grade – that’s over 25 years. After college, they each moved to separate coasts for a decade. They were reunited when they decided to leave big city life and settle down with their families in Denver, Colorado and Facebook told them their daughters are 3 weeks apart. After several play dates, some more childbirth, some unsuccessful pumping, and the overwhelming nature of mommy community boards, The Pump and Dump Show was born.

The show launched in 2012 in a bar in Northwest Denver and quickly grew to a bi-monthly, local staple for new moms to have a night out. In 2014, Shayna and Tracey took The Pump and Dump Show on its first national tour, and in September of 2019 The Pump and Dump Show expanded with more casts of real moms who continue to perform every month to audiences nationwide.
