Fortune smiles upon us this season premiere, and indeed, vicariously, onto you. For we have with us in our midst, yet again, a self-made man with a plan — Mr. Dave Gilbert of Wadjet Eye Games.

Dave has been with us once before, back in August 2016, where he gave his perspective on how the games industry — particularly the indie scene, or that preferred subsection of ours, the adventure game scene — had changed in the wake of the demise of colleagues Infamous Quests.

That was nearly two years ago, and surely things must have changed in the interim. Right?

Join us for a comprehensive look at what’s happened in the past two years — the (re-)rise of the gamedev auteur, the blessing or curse of the Let’s Play environment, the role of advertising (e.g. screaming from the virtual rooftops at regular intervals).

Dave’s measured insight is always valuable and we thought it was only appropriate to lead off this season with this hour-long establishing shot of where are we now.

There is, of course, a video version for you weird YouTube people, and a regular-sized audio version below this post.

And that’s not to mention the usual weird tomfoolery that goes on on our Patreon. Yes, that thing is still around! And this season we will be releasing more exclusive content just for you lovely people who partially fund our repeat appearances at AdventureX.
