There are more than 35 million unpaid caregivers who provide unpaid services to an adult age 50 or older in the US.  According to the AARP Public Policy Institute, the economic value of unpaid caregiving exceeds $470B.  According to the National Alliance for Caregiving and AARP, Family caregivers spend an average of 24.4 hours per week providing care and nearly 1 in 4 caregivers spends 41 hours or more per week providing care.  And 24% of caregivers provide care for more than 5 years.  These numbers are astonishing.

The caregiver is the unsung hero who often suffers physically, emotionally and financially while putting others first.  Today we are going to hear from my good friend, Alexandra Drane who is the co-founder and CEO of Archangel.  Alex will tell us about the impact of caregiving on the caregiver and what she and others at Archangel are doing about it.
