Yesterday we left at 7:00 am to go to the University Hospital in SLC. We got home around 9:00 pm. It was a long day.
I checked in to the hospital, had IVs placed in both arms and had a bunch of pre-drugs put into me to stabilize side effects. Then, around 12:00 I was hooked up to the drug for a 2 hour infusion. By 2:15 I was unplugged from the drug but still connected to saline. I had blood drawn at 3:15, 4:15, 5:15, and 6:15. They do this to monitor my body's changes.
Overall it wasn't really too bad. I was able to eat, rest, talk to Julie, and otherwise function. Today I am feeling like I did on Monday before I went to the hospital. So, I guess it's a decent treatment as far as toleration goes.
Anyway, I will be doing this every Tuesday until August 5th. Then, I will have two weeks off before going again for another 6 weeks.
Take care, Nathan
