Soon after Nukhet Hendricks arrived in Fargo, North Dakota, she spoke her mind in a meeting at work.  Afterwards, she received feedback that she was “too strong for a woman” and needed to “take it down a notch.”  Nukhet grew up in a family of strong women in Turkey.  And her father always encouraged her to “argue” about current events.   Naturally, it was a shock to hear that it wasn’t okay for her to speak with conviction at work.  It turned out to be both a blessing and a curse, as you’ll hear Nucket describe during our conversation.

If she could, Nukhet would stay in college – she’s thirsty for knowledge – a classic sign of the Visionary Alter-Ego I fondly named Lena Learner.  However, as Nukhet points out, Lena Learner can stop you from taking action and moving forward.  A year ago, she may not have even agreed to come on B is for Brilliant, because she would have been worried: Do I know enough to talk to Mary?  Now, she’s okay with not knowing everything, and allows others’ expertise to enhance her life.  Listen to learn more about how Nukhet works with Lena Learner to be a better entrepreneur, leader and partner.
