James Maynard grew up around the space program, and he has dedicated his professional life to making science education available to everyone. Maynard has written thousands of science articles, hosted star parties, and taught astronomy for students from 2nd grade to college.


He currently publishes The Cosmic Companion, a multimedia publication focused on humanizing astronomy education through friendly conversations with scientists, authors, and developers around the globe.
