David Givens is a filmmaker, producer, and emerging Director of Photography. His work spans documentaries, branded content, TV, and Commercials for clients such as Conde Nast, Def Jam Recordings, and Vice. Currently, he is developing a series of narratives and a short film project based on his formative years in New York City. In this episode, we talk about finding one’s voice as a filmmaker, creating authentically based on what you know, the pros and cons of freelancing as a filmmaker, and the importance of representation, intention, and sensibilities.
