This week, Dr. Vincent Esposito and Dr. Kali Olsen are joined by Dr. Dianna Cortese, a board certified dentist born, raised, and practicing in New York City. She completed her GPR at NYP Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn and spent a summer training in dental oncology.  Dr. Cortese is a SMART (Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique) certified holistic/biological dentist. She is a HEALTHY START dentist that works with children to promote proper growth and development of the jaw with a focus on sleep-disordered breathing. Dr. Cortese understands the oral-systemic connection and has a preventative-oriented approach to dentistry.  Today, they discuss what biological dentistry is, how it differs from conventional dentistry, and the oral systemic link to chronic disease.
