Ruth Lomo came to the United States as a refugee in 2001 with 11 children. By 2012 She had founded a program to assist children of refugee families with their homework.

This program has grown into a full service after-school, pre-school, parenting classes and language classes program in the heart of Memphis. In addition, Ruth has started a business back home in South Sudan to assist her people there.
