A study last year claimed to have found the earliest evidence of humans making clothes. Pieces of bone found in a cave in Morocco look like they’re designed to process leather. So, is this when humans invented clothes?

No, clothing was invented in the garden of Eden.

After Adam and Eve sinned, they tried to cover their shame with fig leaves. But God himself made clothes for them by killing an animal. These clothes, and the sacrifice and spilled blood of that animal, covered their sin and shame.

The origin of clothing is so much more amazing than humans stumbling upon old bones: clothes point us to Jesus, who would take away our sin and shame through his death and resurrection.
