Genesis one tells us God created everything in six days. Because of the context, we know these were literal, twenty-four-hour days.
This is Ken Ham, author of the book on effective evangelism called “Gospel Reset.”
Now, the Bible doesn’t give us an exact age for the universe—and that’s a good thing! Think about it. If it did, it would be out of date after just a year! But the Bible gives us the information we need.
Genesis one tells us God created everything in six days. Because of the context, we know these were literal, twenty-four-hour days. And Genesis gives us very detailed genealogies. Now, these allow us to determine how many years there were between Adam and Abraham, about two thousand.
Now, we know Abraham lived about two thousand years before Christ. And, of course, that was two thousand years ago.
So, that gives us a young universe—just six thousand years.
