You see, the family is the primary means that God has established to transmit the knowledge of him. The Book of Psalms says it like this, “One generation shall commend your works to another.”


I think one of the saddest verses in all of Scripture comes after the death of Joshua: “And there arose another generation . . . who did not know the Lord or the work that he had done for Israel.” Parents didn’t tell their children about the Lord!


Don’t be like them—each day declare to your children the mighty works of God.
