That is what made him righteous, nothing else. But, that righteousness then showed itself through his actions.

Today we look at Jeremiah 3: 11-18.  In this passage, we see that God is out to get us, but in a way that we may not expect.  God is out to get us because He longs to bring us back home, He longs to restore us, He longs to forgive us.  God pursues us because He longs to show us grace.

Today in our readings we look at Acts 1: 21-26.  Today is the day in the life of the church when we remember Matthias.  He was chosen to replace Judas among the Apostles.  We don't know much about him, other than these verses.  He was not famous, he was faithful.  Let's be careful in our lives that we are chasing the right thing - to be faithful.

February 23, 2021 12:00 - 12 minutes - 8.28 MB

Today we look at John 2: 13-22.  In this passage we see Jesus cleansing the Temple.  He cleans out all the things that are standing between people and God. We should do the same, we clear out all the barriers that can make folks believe that they aren't good enough to be loved by God.  Today, let's make sure as many people as possible know that God loves them.

Tuesday Reflections – February 16, 2021 – Fool's Gold

February 16, 2021 14:00 - 10 minutes - 7.52 MB

Today we look at John the Baptist's mission.  He knew that he was to point to Jesus, in all things.  He had clarity of mission and purpose.  We exist for the same reason, but we often don't find fulfillment because we substitute other things for that mission.  Those things are fool's gold.  Only finding life in Jesus, and pointing others to Jesus, that is the purpose we all seek.

February 15, 2021 12:00 - 10 minutes - 7.02 MB

Today we read from Deuteronomy 6: 10-15.  In this passage we see the reminder of God, when you come into the Promised Land and gain all spoils of victory, do not forget God.  Do not think that you have done this, or gained this victory, but remember that God has done this. Wednesday Reflections – February 10, 2021 – Don't Give Up

February 10, 2021 12:00 - 10 minutes - 7.57 MB

In our reflection today, we look at Mark 10: 13-16.  In this passage, little children come to Jesus and the Disciples try to stop them.  Jesus is indignant against this action because He has just taught about this.  He welcomes the children, but He also does not give up on the Disciples, even though they got it wrong.  He didn't give up on them.  Let's not give up on ourselves.

Friday Reflections – February 5, 2021 – Who's in Charge

February 05, 2021 11:00 - 10 minutes - 7.39 MB

Today in our daily reflections, we look at Galatians 5: 16-26.  In this passage, we contrast the Works of the Flesh with the Fruit of the Spirit. When we look at this we see that we will live our one of these two options. The choice begins with this question.  Who's in charge?  That determines the rest.

Thursday Reflections – February 4, 2021 – The Choice of Love

February 04, 2021 12:00 - 10 minutes - 7.23 MB

Today in our readings, we look at Galatians 5: 6, 13-15.  In this passage we see Paul talk to us about the sum of the entire Law - love your neighbor. But we love our neighbor in becoming a slave, or servant to each other.  Love is not emotion.  Love is laying down our lives for each other. When we do that, we all find our needs met.

Wednesday Reflections – February 3, 2021 – Not Finished

February 03, 2021 12:00 - 10 minutes - 7.19 MB

Today in our morning reflection, we look at Mark 8: 22-26.  In this passage we see Jesus heal a blind man, but His first attempt does not finish the job perfectly.  Jesus comes back and heals Him again.  Just because we are not completely healed, or everything is not as would like it to be in our faith or in our lives, it does not mean that God is done with us.  He is not finished.

February 02, 2021 12:00 - 10 minutes - 7.13 MB

Today is a day in the church, one that I was unaware of, Candlemass.  It is the 40th day from Christmas, the traditional day that Mary and Joseph would have brought Jesus to the Temple to be presented, as told to us in Luke 2. Today in our morning reflections, we look at Galatians 4: 1-5.  We see in this passage that God sent Jesus in the fullness of time. What does that mean?  At just the right moment, God sent Jesus to save and restore the world. We have hope because God's time is not our time.

In our morning reflections today, we look at a couple of verses with Isaiah 48. We look at 4, and then 9-11.  In this passage, we see God's understanding of who we are, that we are imperfect and sinful, but then we see God talk about testing.  In this passage, we get an understanding of exactly why it is that we are tested.

Bonus Episode - Sunday Sermon - The Big Ask

January 25, 2021 11:00 - 26 minutes - 18.1 MB

We continue with our series on the Lord's Prayer, in Matthew 6: 9-13. This week Andy looks at verse 10, "Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will be Done on Earth as it is in Heaven."  When we think about what we are asking God to do here, that is a HUGE deal. What would the world look like if this happened?

Thursday Reflections - January 21, 2021 - Too Busy

January 21, 2021 12:00 - 8 minutes - 5.66 MB

Today we take a few minutes to look at Psalm 37.  In this passage we are told to be still before the Lord, avoid anger and wrath, do not fret.  We are so busy, not just with activities, but we are busy of mind and busy of soul. We do not give God the space to speak into us.  Today, give yourself that space to listen for God.

Wednesday Reflections - January 20, 2021 - Sin and Forgiveness

January 20, 2021 11:00 - 9 minutes - 6.81 MB

In our reading today from Psalm 38, we see David confess his sin, he is suffering because of the actions he has taken. But we see, right after his confession, a plea of forgiveness from God.  Yes, our sin is real, but God's forgiveness is greater than any of our sin.

Tuesday Reflections - January 19, 2021 - Two Paths: Anger or Kindness

January 19, 2021 12:00 - 9 minutes - 6.48 MB

Today, we look at Ephesians 4: 25-32.  We see two paths laid out before us. A path of anger, malice, and bitterness, or a path of kindness and tenderheartedness. But that choice is made by a previous choice, will we give the devil a foothold in our lives, or will we allow the Holy Spirit to work?   Kindness and tenderheartedness look foolish in this world we live in. But they are the path the Spirit leads us down.  May we choose wisely today.

Bonus Episode - Sunday Sermon - Prepare Ye the Way

January 11, 2021 11:00 - 24 minutes - 16.9 MB

In our Traditional message from Sunday, January 10, 2021, it is Baptism of the Lord Sunday.  We read from Mark 1: 1-11. We see how for Jesus His baptism wasn't the end of His journey, but the beginning.  The same is true for us!

January 08, 2021 11:00 - 8 minutes - 6.16 MB

Today in our Gospel reading, we see Jesus tell us that we will not believe until we have signs and wonders.  The father believers, however, before the miracle, and then he sees it.  We may need to have faith before we can see the miracle.

Thursday Reflections - January 7, 2021 - God is Determined

January 07, 2021 11:00 - 8 minutes - 5.94 MB

Today we look at Psalm 103 and Isaiah 52: 3-6.  When we read these passages together, we see something amazing. God is determined to show us grace and mercy.  God is determined to save us.  If we aren't saved, if we don't know God's love, it won't be because God didn't try.  He knows we are weak and frail, and he desires us in spite of it all.  Today, God is determined to be in a relationship with us.  Our job is to respond.
