In this episode we come to the serene peace of Saturn, with burning souls and intensity of spirit, love and energy. The main symbol in this sphere is the ladder - an image for transition and ascent to the highest of heavens, and also of the Monastery. The mood is changing a lot, and the Pilgrim too is becoming more thoughtful and infused with wonder and love.

With this canto we are entering the final stages of the whole Journey through Paradise.
