Description: Karie Nordland sets the record for youngest person to network with a law enforcement professional on our show at ~12 years old (seventh grade), and another record for identifying a subject via social media that it became a fun past-time at her agency. In this episode, Karie discusses how she knew she wanted to be in the law enforcement field at an early age, and the classes and internships she partook in to achieve her goals – now she’s spewing crime analysis all over the place! Karie does a class on using social media as a (powerful) tool to assist in investigations; Karie breaks down the main lessons of her class, but we definitely recommend attending it whenever she presents it! Karie’s badge story involves a female-led and driven investigation that promoted solidarity and stood against misogyny using all available resources to bring the perpetrator to justice. Karie is currently a Crime Analyst II for the Lakewood (CO) Police Department.
