The sermon was delivered on Sunday, July 26, 2015, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by David Ruffin, Resident Minister.
SERMON DESCRIPTION
With all the injustice around us, not to mention personal challenges, who has time and energy for environmentalist activism? (And in Tulsa, of all places.) Well, this Sunday we’ll explore how a student teacher relationship with our blue planet home might not only yet “save the planet,” but also “save” our –probably in relatively far more peril – souls. How would we change if we changed our relationship with earth? What would it mean to you to put the earth, and all she represents, at least a little closer to the center of your life? Might we discover that climate change, myriad systemic injustices and our financial struggles, family conflicts, loss and grief, addictions, health struggles, etc. (insert current personal challenge here) have the same spiritual solution? Let’s see what truly priceless natural resources are really at our fingertips. See you (back!) at church Sunday!
