Did you ever start a project, just crushing it in the beginning?...

...only to take a break from it, return to it, and find that there's suddenly little interest in it?

We're back to recording every weekday morning.

I asked for your feedback, and you gave it to me.

That's important to me and it matters.

This audience matters.

We may be small right now, but we are strong.

We are going places and our future is bright.

Well, it's like fishing in a sense

Stocked pond seems heavy and it is

The project I'm referring to is Financial Peace University (FPU)

The pond is like the community - my church community to be specific

The community is full of people, many of whom are just like you and I

Many of those people are also ridden with consumer debt...

...mostly in the form of credit cards and school loans

And I was right there myself

In early 2018, I was attending FPU for the 3rd time at a local church

I had 23k in debt at that time and I was making around 48k annually

Something finally clicked inside of me and I got sick and tired of being sick and tired

I decided to get serious and work intensely with a financial coach named Joe Mains

If you're interested in financial coaching - he'll work with you online via zoom calls

Moreover, he's offered me some discounts for customers I send his way

By late spring of 2018, I had gotten serious about FPU

I think I had finally learned what Gazelle intense meant

I decided to FULLY engage in the program

I decided to find a church of my own

Spoke about that in Episode 8 and Episode 9, titled Spirituality 1.0 and Spirituality 2.0

So...in late 2018 / early 2019 - I found a church and become a member

In early last year, 2020 - I coordinated my first course, the ultimate accountability partner

So here we are...in a church community that's never had an FPU course before

Here's our church community - our proverbial pond

When we cast our lines for membership the first year, we had 15 members sign up

Pond in a sense has been overfished, might need time to repopulate

This year we have 1 person signed up

What is the takaway?
