James Walter Charleston is the creator of Frijoles y Arroz. Writer, actor and producer, Jim, has won numerous awards for his writing and acting. He is co-author of Spiritual Nomads, a research study analyzing self-destructive behavior with regressed memories. He was the co-founder of the Family Crisis Counseling Center dealing with families in danger of having one or more children placed outside of the home and has undergone training in Bonding Psychotherapy. He earned a Masters in Divinity from the Iliff School of Theology and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Denver. He has written a solo show addressing the problem of sexual assault which he has performed both nationally and internationally. He is also the author of a blog offering resources on how we can bring an end to sexual assault. Frijoles y Arroz is his attempt to help bring about a world where any woman can safely go anywhere at anytime.
