The Wild Men of the Vu Quang Nature Reserve in the deep jungles of Vietnam are well known to, and well respected by locals. A likely cousin to the Yeti of Tibet, and likely evolved through the native psilocybin, the Wild Men, also known as the Ujit or Batutut, are the keepers of the jungles and caves on and around Dong Den mountain, just north of Hoi An. Though their legend goes back hundreds of years, it wasn't until the Vietnam War sent bombs and soldiers crashing into their homeland that the sightings began with American GIs and the folklore made it's way to hearts of every small-town VFW hall last call. Join us today in part one of a two part episode where we focus on the presence of Giant Apes in the jungles of south eastern Asia. Join us next week for part two, the story of Minnesota Ice Man.
