A.C.E Podcast Nation Presents Mental Health in Sport: Football, welcome to the premiere of episode 8 of our brand new series focusing on this very important subject.
In each episode our @A.C.E Podcast Nation founder and Host Si (@ACEcast_Nation) is joined by Mental Health Support worker Jacob (@ADHDfatherUK) as they talk to current and ex footballers about their battles with Mental Health, Addiction, PTSD and more.
The series features a current EFL club captain as well as several Ex internationals telling their stories like never before.
In this episode Si & Jacob are joined by Ex England, Former Liverpool, WBA, Wigan & Coventry keeper Chris Kirkland (@ChrisKirkland43) as he tells his story, he talks about his battle with anxiety, home sickness and depression including suicidal thoughts that culminated with him being on a ledge during a pre season tour. Thankfully Chris has continued to battle and is now doing all he can to help others and encourage mental health awareness.
As ever we are so grateful to the footballers who join us on this series, as they give such honest accounts of their battles and difficulties. This is the way forward and the only way we can change the way the world views Mental Health is too keep talking.
