Domestic abuse isn't always what you think it is. There's many different types from physical to emotional to psychological and even sexual. The abuser could be anyone as could the survivor. For most of use we want to know how to help the survivor make it through their situation but it's not always as easy as just removing them from the situation. Sometimes there are kids involved and that makes leaving immensely harder. Generally the best thing you can do is offer a listening ear. Here's Cynthia's story of survival and how you can help.
