This episode, which is episode number 100 of the Running 44@60 Podcast, was largely recorded on the run at the Loch Ness Marathon 2022.

After some very severe editing I hope the recording chronicles my run and indeed how difficult I found it in the last 8 miles or so, not because of the terrain or undulations but for reasons I have yet to properly identify I did find myself walking a bit and then predominantly shuffling those last few miles which seemed to take forever.

Maybe I simply hadn't trained enough, maybe I was eating and drinking the wrong things but they were the ones I had used in training, maybe my energy levels just weren't right on the day, or as I mentioned during the run may be I missed the crowds, which clearly on a course like this I knew in advance weren't going to be there.

But I made it over the finish line and really glad that I took part in this very well organised event. After my post run recorded intro there is a short clip with Scottish marathon legend Fraser Clyne who I met by chance during the Saturday Expo. I used a handheld recording device and the quality of the short clip from Fraser isn't very good but I wanted to keep it in because he was highly interesting person with a very impressive marathon pedigree.

So please bear with that bit of the recording.
