This week our guest is Donna Morgan, an integrative body therapist, somatic worker and coach.
Her focus is integrating mind, body, and emotions and has been working in the field of bodywork for 27 years.

Her philosophy, which we discussed in the episode, is that our mind, body, and emotions are like three musical notes. Often we play them separately and can become very skilled at one of the notes but deaf to the others. For instance, the use of the mind is often given more value than intuition, body sense or emotion. When we use all three in life, we become familiar with all the “musical notes” giving us many more possibilities, options, and skills to face the challenges that life brings. This means we are less likely to become overwhelmed and more resilient and at peace within ourselves. It is like we begin to play chords rather than just notes and life can feel fuller and in better flow.

Another aspect of her work is looking at which survival skills we have developed earlier in life but which are now inhibiting rather than helping us. All our survival strategies were built in wisdom and intelligence (that is why we are still here!) but if they become a sticking point then they haven't been integrated and can create internal conflict and overwhelm.

Donna also has a wonderful workshop coming up (starts on February 13th!) about leaving out (of) love, to find our more and connect with Donna please reach out at [email protected]
