THE QUOTE:

"Once more: The alcoholic at certain times has no effective mental
defense against the first drink. Except in a few rare cases, neither
he nor any other human being can provide such a defense. His defense must come from a Higher Power."
~Alcoholics Anonymous, 4th Edition, More About Alcoholism, pg. 43~

EXAMEN:

The Daily Examen is a midday/evening meditation technique that incorporates awareness, gratitude, reflection, and vision. The Examen Remixed is an adaptation from Ignatius Loyola’s original practice found in his Spiritual Exercises. This practice teaches us how to find the Spirit in our relationships, challenges, frustrations, and feelings that we are experiencing in the present moment. In this “remix” you will be led through the principles of the traditional Examen, while also being given the opportunity to reflect on quotes for thinkers, philosophers, artists, etc.
