1. Your dog is ruining your social life

In this episode, Annie triggers every young professional with a discussion of how dogs wreck your finances, make your home dirty and uninviting, and prevent you from meeting new people.

Given that they cost money, invest that money in a Roth IRA instead (3:32). Dogs make your house dirty. Your new friends don't want to hang out in dirty homes (7:24). Don't miss out on building relationships with humans because you have to fulfill a feeding or walk obligation to your dog (11:26). The Point: Young professionals don't want a dog, they actually want personal responsibility. Personal responsibility is a lot less expensive and a lot more fulfilling than a dog (16:21). Thinking is good, doing is better: Compromise -- get a dog after you have fulfilled 4 obligations (but don't bring it over to my house) (20:16).
