Builddie is a home energy management solution which plugs into your smart thermostat to deliver you cost savings on your energy usage & ensure your home is efficient and comfortable. Builddie also utilises advanced AI to learn your patterns, analyse massive amounts of data and deliver the most efficient results for your particular situation.
I was interested in speaking to Builddie because I wanted to better understand the role that smart homes will play in reducing CO2 emissions. Currently, in the US, commercial and residential buildings account for 12% of greenhouse gas emissions. Solutions like Builddie will play a crucial role in proliferating 'smart homes' and reducing their energy consumption.
The ‘smartness’ of buildings is provided by a home energy management system, which is aware of the state of the electricity network, including the balance of demand and response, and the real-time price of electricity. Within the energy mix, when the load is higher the cost of energy will go up, therefore making timing extremely important.
