A certified yoga instructor and native Angeleno, who in 2010 was compelled to no longer be called her birth name Jeff, but identify as Jill and has been on the transgender journey ever since.

The road to her awakening and living in her truth has not been easy. She went from a house, a job and a family to living in her car. She has weathered a common narrative amongst transgender women; family estrangement, addiction, mental health crises, job losses, evictions, housing discrimination, homelessness, suicide attempts, psychiatric hospitalizations, violent crime, sexual assaults and jail.

She shares with us how she found recovery, yoga and advocacy. She cautions that many hard fought recent gains for the transgender community are at risk.
