I spoke with the multi-talented Dr. Pamela King (Fuller Seminary, Thrive Center for Human Development). She is a researcher in developmental psychology whose passion is human thriving. We talk about thriving, as well as how virtue connects to thriving. Before that, she sets the stage with a discussion of religion and its role in both virtue development and thriving. For Pam, a virtue is a "psychological capacity that enables us to know, feel, and do what is right and  good at different times and in different places." I love that definition. We also talk about the relationship between our own evolving narrative identity and the formation of virtues.Dr. King's Thrive Center profile: https://thethrivecenter.org/about/pam-ebstyne-king/Her Twitter: https://twitter.com/drpamkingHer Amazon author's page: https://smile.amazon.com/s?i=stripbooks&rh=p_27%3APamela+Ebstyne+King&s=relevancerank&text=Pamela+Ebstyne+King&ref=dp_byline_sr_book_2Dan's new music project Havana Swim Club on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/6CzaYsf8RIrCHNDhFGSfgm?si=InuVGF2ESse9unLRXM3QJQhttps://open.spotify.com/track/6FNXLPqbXvIC9OZmHqy6cK?si=687fd1c987ee466eHavana Swim Club on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkhsQydzvcAHT2d70dWZvjAAlbum Spotify pre-save: https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/havanaswimclub/havana-swim-clubFollow Dan on IG: https://www.instagram.com/dancoke/Or Twitter: https://twitter.com/DanKochFaith deconstruction resources: soyouredeconstructing.comEdited by Josh Gilbert ([email protected] -- he is accepting more work!)Join the Patreon for exclusive episodes (and more) every month: patreon.com/dankochEmail about the "sliding scale" for the Patreon: [email protected] Patron-only FB group: https://tinyurl.com/ycvbbf98Website: youhavepermissionpod.comJoin Dan's email list: dankochwords.comArtwork by http://sprungle.co/ Hosted on Acast.
