The Father- Pt. 3- The Prodigal Son Mini-Series

Our final episode of the prodigal son mini-series closes with our last character, the Father.

I have to admit that I haven't spent much time thinking about the Father beyond the thought that he seemed a little foolish to welcome back his son with open arms. Wouldn't discipline have been more fitting? His part seems so small, but I'm sure that I'll have a brand new inspired way of looking at the Father that I will carry with me on my journey after this conversation.

I am grateful to have back with me Jennifer Hayes. I have so enjoyed digging into these two brothers' characteristics and unraveling all the symbolism that we today can connect to our own lives. I've really gobbled up looking into the younger brother as an example of extravagance gone wrong, as well as the vast lack of extravagance in the older brother and how both lead to a wasteland.
