Eric Adams first began his career in law enforcement after being persuaded to change the NYPD from within, during a meeting at the House of the Lord Church in Brooklyn. Reverend Leah Daughtry is the presiding minister of the church now, and she joined Errol to weigh in on Adams’ primary victory and the rise of Black power. She discussed the diversity in Black politics and what that means for the future of the Democratic Party. She also shared her experience growing up as the daughter of prominent faith leaders and her recent efforts to empower Black women to use their political and economic power in their communities. And she talked about her recent meeting with Vice President Kamala Harris and other Black leaders over the push for voting rights.
Check out Errol’s conversation with Eric Adams.
