Last week, Donna Nicholson Steif admitted that she was “grief illiterate” before she lost her son in a tragic accident. She shared her personal story of great loss, walked us through what grief is & talked about why processing and discussing our grief is pivotal to our health and well-being.
Today you’ll join the rest of our conversation which covers how children grieve differently than adults, how we can help them process in healthy ways, and what NOT to say to a grieving person. We share several scriptural truths that will encourage your heart, and provide a link to a GriefShare support group near you.
Ready to hear how you can steward grief well with the kids in your life? Let’s go!
DONNA NICHOLSON STIEF joined the LCBC church staff in May of 2019 as the Director of Stewardship. She spent the previous 21 years as Chief Compliance Officer and Executive Director in the professional credit industry. Donna serves on two boards: Christian Stewardship Network and Bible2School. At LCBC she serves with Next Steps Grief Share. She has been attending LCBC since 1998 and lives in Lititz, Pennsylvania with her husband Roger. In her spare time, you’ll find her walking the outdoor trails, visiting Ocean City New Jersey (all year!) and playing with her cats Sunny Bear Elwood and Buddy Southpaw Nicholson Stief.
