This week on Yes But Why, I had a wonderful chat with television director, Julie LoRusso.

Julie LoRusso is a multi-camera live and live-to-tape director with over 30 years-experience in television production. Julie has worked with clients such as MTV, PBS, and Comedy Central. Some of the highlights of her work have been with Sesame Street (2020), Tidal X – Lil’ Wayne (2018), CrossFit Games (2014-Present), and Times Square New Year’s Eve (2016-2018). Julie is also a triathlete who currently does health and fitness coaching through Team Beachbody.

In this episode, Julie regales me with great stories, from her first kiss onstage to the start of her TV career at MTV. In our conversation, we talk about the ups and downs of the freelance lifestyle. Julie talks about the benefits of doing internships to get your foot in the door. We chat about puppets, Team Beachbody fitness coaching, and heavy metal music.
