On february 17, 1970 a woman wearing a floppy hat and blonde white wig entered the residence of the McDonald family at 544 Castle Drive on the Fort Bragg Army base at the "witching hour" of 3am or so.  When they left,  Colette McDonald and her two daughters Kimberly and Kristen lay brutally murdered,  the victims of a vicious attack by a group of drug addled hippies bearing a nothing more tangible as a motive than a grudge against the establishment.  How do we know this?  The testimony of the patriarch of the family,  Lt. Jeffrey McDonald of the Green Beret.   Dr. McDonald was left wounded but alive in the wake of this bizarre attack and maintains his story 52 years after the incident.  In this episode,  Lisa,  Aaron,  our returning guest Kenneth Williams and I review one of the most famous true crime cases of all time.  We discuss the same circumstantial evidence the jury debated when they found McDonald guilty in a civilian trial and sentenced him to three life sentences,  but arrive at nearly four entirely different conclusions.
