Today’s (November 16) the day of the annual Cortland-Ithaca football rivalry once billed by Sports Illustrated as “the biggest little game in the nation.” This year, it appears that claim will be made official.

SUNY Cortland Communications Director Fred Pierce called into WXHC to break it all down.

With more than 45K tickets sold at last count, the 61st Cortaca Jug will break the all-time attendance record for a Division-III football contest set back in 2017 at Target Field in Minneapolis.

On top of that honor, the event will also be the largest-ever gathering of alumni in one place for both schools.

Kickoff is set for at 1 p.m. at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. A live stream is available here.
