Paul Jarvis has been working on the Internet for 20 years, starting out as a web designer and helping shape brands and projects for titans of industry, sports icons, and global brands.
But 10 years ago when he and his wife decided to leave city living — and the fast, busy lifestyle that came with it — behind, Paul reconnected with his true goals as a business owner: staying small, and not getting sucked into the trap of thinking that more is better.
In this interview, Paul and Dave discuss the core ideas of his book and how his personal and professional journey informed his new philosophy, including:
Paul is a designer, podcaster and author. He describes himself as someone who makes simple and humane products. In the past, Paul has worked with professional athletes like Steve Nash and Shaquille O’Neal, corporate giants like Microsoft and Mercedes-Benz, and entrepreneurs with online empires like Danielle LaPorte and Marie Forleo. His words and ideas have been featured in WIRED, Fast Company, VICE, USA Today, Quartz, and more. His book explores what happens when we question growth in business. It has been translated into over 18 languages.
