Today I’m talking to Clare Josa about the reasons why we procrastinate as writers, and why, even when we have written for many years (whether published or not), we believe that someone will find out that we’re faking it – we’re not a real writer!

Clare has been a mentor to many World-Changers including writers since 2002, and has contributed towards media outlets such as The Guardian, BBC, Financial Times, ITN, The Telegraph and The Mail, amongst others. She’s also a teacher and practitioner of NLP, Yoga and Meditation, and brings aspects of these into her mentoring process.

And she’s also on the scary journey of being an author – of both fiction (including You Take Yourself With You) and non-fiction – including Dare to Dream Bigger.

In this podcast, we talk about the reasons why we stop ourselves from writing – procrastinate – at key times during the writing process, and why, even when we have proven to ourselves that we can write, we still feel like we are an imposter, and not a ‘real author’.

Clare gives some sterling advice on ways in which you can deal with this as a writer, and shares with us her own – sometimes cliff-edge ‘oh no, she didn’t do that!!?’ journey, where even as an established author she convinced herself her work was worth nothing…. And how she brought herself back from the cliff-edge to thrive once again.

And a sure-fire step-by-step process to beat those self-doubts for good!

And not only that, but Clare’s got an amazing announcement as well for listeners of The Writers Journey Podcast.

Visit Clare on her site at www.clarejosa.com/simon and you can get free access to her five-day course Imposter Syndrome for Authors, normally retailing at £47.
