Blow the trumpets (Num. 10:8). The blowing of the trumpet seems to have been a priestly ministry until David appointed musicians as full-time ministers before the Lord. Even during the years of David’s musical expansion, the priests primarily blew the trumpets.
In Numbers chapter 10, we can see the five ministries of the trumpet. These ministries represent the five ministries of the present-day worship team. I want you to see that we have more to do than simply play music, sing or dance—we have a responsibility to serve the priests as they come to worship.
