Esther is one of only 2 books of the Bible that never mentions God. The Jewish people were facing oppression and discrimination – quite similar to what some ethnic groups are facing today. Some ask: where is God when folks longing for freedom are welcomed with whips to the land of the free and home of the brave? Esther teaches us that when God seems silent; God may be choosing to speak through us. And, when God seems inactive; God is certainly working through us. If our prayers lay the foundation for our service, what are you praying for? Are you asking big?
