Genesis 22 is one of the most misunderstood

texts in all of Scripture. Modern skeptics teach

that our God encourages infanticide, even

though Leviticus, Jeremiah, 2 Kings, Psalms and

Ezekiel all condemn the practice. God’s testing of

Abraham was a foreshadowing of the gift that he

would give us in Jesus. Our salvation required

God to make the ultimate sacrifice in giving His

son Jesus to us. Abraham’s faith and fear of God

are tested in this passage that reveals to us the

love of the Father for you and for me. (Genesis 22)
