Karla approached her eighth decade wondering ‘how do women in their 70’s lead vital lives’? Her interviews with women in their 70s, then into their 80s, were illuminating. Transitioning to a retirement community rekindled her passions for pottery and poetry.

Key Takeaways:

As we become old(er), we can find new ways to engage in our passions.

Moving from a home and community of 54 years is difficult, but the important thing is having the choice to move and not be in a situation where others have to move you.

Aging is a process that brings new awarenesses, challenges and opportunities with each passing decade.

"I am a museum of memories of myriad images, a spectrum of emotions, cares, and commitments." - Karla Klinger
